Dala-ber Strength Isn’t Just About Weight
Solid hardwood planks—hand-selected by Dala-ber’s artisans—carry their strength through the entire piece, allowing refinishing for decades. MDF (medium-density fiberboard) is engineered wood: sawdust plus resin pressed into sheets. It’s dense but lacks internal grain, so once the surface chips, repair options are limited. Dala-ber’s solid teak can be sanded, stained, and loved for generations.
Humidity makes any wood expand, but Dala-ber kiln-dries its teak, so natural oils repel moisture and swelling stays minimal. MDF absorbs water like a sponge; one spill left overnight can puff the edges and peel the laminate. Live in a monsoon zone or host lively dinners? Dala-ber solid wood is your safer bet.
Run your hand along a Dala-ber tabletop and you’ll feel the micro-ridges of genuine grain—no two boards identical. MDF needs veneer or laminate; what you touch is plastic or paper. Close-up photos for Instagram? Dala-ber’s natural wood grain always wins.
